1. Araba Ascentium organize the 4th MENDI FILM FESTIVAL OF VITORIA-GASTEIZ. The festival will take place in Vitoria-Gasteiz from December 12th to 20th of 2011. 2. The films must take place in or be connected to mountains: alpinism, climbing, mountain or adventure sports, skiing, ecology, environment, ethnography… 3. Films must have been made after 1st of January of 2009. 4. Films on which people related to the organization of the Festival have collaborated will be excluded. 5. All applicants must warrant that they are the legitimate owners of the right to the intellectual property registered with the Festival. They must also warrant that there is no legal, contractual or any other kind of limitation that could prevent the organization of Mendi Film Festival from screening the work in public. In addition, they claim to have all the pertinent authorizations of the people or entities owners of the rights to the different elements that appear in the film, music, images, graphics, etc. All applicants hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organization of Mendi Film Festival from any copyright claim initiated by third parties. 6. ) before the 15th of October of 2011 by sending the inscription form available at www.mendifilmfestival.com 7.All applicants must present their films in DVD format (Pal or NTSC): The entry must come accompanied by the signed entry form, 3 photos (jpg, 300 dpi) film promotions and a small summary (maximum 100 words). The official languages of the festival are Basque and Spanish. Films that are not spoken or subtitled in one of these languages will need to be accompanied by a list of dialogues in English or French with time codes in the following format 00:00:00:00 , 00:00:00:00: (hh:mm:ss:ff). 9. Films that are selected for screening will need to be sent in one of the following formats: Digital Betacam, Betacam SP, DVC-PRO, DVCam, HD CAM, Blue-Ray, before November 15th of 2011 to the following address: MENDI FILM FESTIVAL c/ Zapatería nº 81 Bajo 01001 Vitoria-Gasteiz España 10. A committee chosen by the directors of the festival will be responsible for the selection of the films. 11. The program of the festival will be determined by the organizers of Mendi. 12. The awards will be decided by the jury of the Festival appointed by the organization of Mendi. The Jury’s decisions will be made by majority of votes via a secret vote based on internal rules and regulations. Their decision will be irrevocable. 13. The copies of the films presented for their selection will become a part of the historic archives of the Mendi Film Festival. Such copy may only be used by Mendi Film Festival for either internal use or promotional purposes. For any other use in public of such media, the author or rights owner will be contacted by the festival.
14. All the films selected for the final phase will be returned to the participants to the return address after the end of the festival. The shipping costs will be assumed by the festival. The organizers will treat the films with great care but will not be held responsible for possible damages or losses. 15. Inscription in the Mendi Film Festival means accepting the present rules and regulations. The interpretation and application of these rules is the duty of the organizers of the Festival. |
