Last year (2010), during a bouldering trip, Elie Chevieux found a big wall in Baspa Valley. He decided to go back this year with Giovanni Quirici and Yannick Boissenot to open a new route on this virgin summit : “The Shoshala”. After 2 months in India, 3 weeks at the base camp with only 3 sunny days, they opened a 2,300-foot route with many pitches in the 7th degree and reached the summit, standing at 15,400 feet. This is the last expedition of Giovanni Quirici.

There he joins André Vacampenhoud, and together they travel to Yunek with the aim of climbing in the Acopan Tepuy. The face wall chosen, they start the climb… “ Right from the first stretch the face wall starts to collapse and doesn’t show any intentions of righting itself”. The documentary narrates the opening of the “Lost World” route which Adolfo and André opened in the Acopan Tepuy.

Resident in Yosemite, this climber recently clocked up, together with Alex Honnold three routes of El Capitan in one day (The Nose, Salathé Wall and Lurking Fear), that’s 2,400 metres of climbing in 24 hours. Not content with devouring metres, they also do it at full speed: the record in The Nose accompanied by Dean Potter and new projects in mind to break old records in the valley. A real spectacle.

It was first climbed in 1970 by climber and poet Edwin Drummond. Drummond, together with Oliver Hill, took 7 days to climb the cliff, sleeping on ledges and in hammocks on the way.
