Bilbao will become the international epicentre of Mountai, Adventure, Extreme Sports and Nature cinema once again, between 9 and 18 December. A total of 59 films representing 14 countries have been selected to be screened at the 15th edition of BBK Mendi Film Bilbao Bizkaia.

- 59 films have been selected for the Official Section, the Zabalandi Section out of competition, and the premiere of the Mendi Film Bizkaia Ternua grant 2022, representing 14 countries.
- Notorious increase of spanish films, going from 10 productions in 2021, to 20 in the 2022 edition.
- Other: United States (12), France (7), Canada (3), Germany (3), United Kingdom (3), Argentina (2), Australia (2), Poland (2), Austria (1), Czech Republic (1), Italy (1), Netherlands (1) and Norway (1).
- 10 films produced in the Basque Country, and/or by Basque directors.
- The Official Section will distribute € 25,200 in prizes divided into 14 nominations
Sala BBK, Euskalduna and Golem Cinemas
All these films will be screened at Sala BBK, at the Euskalduna Palace and at the Golem cinemas of Azkuna Zentroa, in Bilbao. BBK Mendi Film Bilbao-Bizkaia will be face-to-face with unrestricted audiences and capacity, after two editions conditioned by the pandemic.
The full schedule will be released in mid-November.
Jury members
- Lisa Stolze (Austria), marketing expert and former key player in the production company Red Bull Media House.
- Laura Zumiani (Italy), programmer of the Trento Film Festival and member of the board of the Italian association of film festivals.
- Iratxe Fresneda (Euskadi), filmmaker, scriptwriter and professor of audio-visuals at UPV-EHU.
- Josué Vergara (Valencia), musician and soundtrack composer, who has collaborated with filmmaker Seb Montaz, among others.
- Albert Pascual (Catalonia), filmmaker and director of photography, among others in the film 'La Cima', and professor at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuales de Catalunya.
